Gas leak reported near Sunrise Mall in Brownsville

Crews are working to fix a gas leak near a popular restaurant next to Brownsville's Sunrise Mall.

Brownsville police said a gas leak was reported near the IHOP restaurant off Pablo Kisel Boulevard around 12 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that a construction crew damaged a gas line while working in the area.

Gas company crews are on the scene to fix the problem.

Authorities have shut down part of Pablo Kisel Boulevard while crews work on fixing the line.
