Body of fallen San Juan soldier arrives Sunday

The body of fallen San Jan soldier, Jose Luis Montenegro, will arrive in the valley Sunday morning.

Once the body arrives at McCreery Aviation at 10:50 a.m., a convoy will proceed to Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.

Funeral services will be held on Monday and Tuesday.

The burial will be on Wednesday at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery at 2520 S. Inspiration Road in Mission

The 32-year-old soldier died in a helicopter crash on September 5.

Montenegro grew up in San Juan but graduated from high school in the Houston area.

Information on times for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday services will be provided soon .
