The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an aggravated assault early Saturday morning.

It happened at about 5 a.m. near the intersections of Cesar Chavez and Benito Ramirez Roads north of Edinburg.

Deputies said they responded to a 9-1-1 call about a man with a handgun, driving a black truck.

The scene remained active as of 9:30 a.m.
