A San Benito woman is behind bars after being accused of an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old boy.

According to the Sheriff's department, 20-year-old Cinthia Guadalupe Almaraz had sexual contact with the teen.

They say both parties admitted to the sexual relationship.

It all happened at a home off of FM 1575 in San Benito.

Deputies said Almaraz's husband was working on the road working as a truck driver while she was engaging in these sexual acts with the minor.

Sheriff Omar Lucio said the department did not hesitate to arrest Almaraz as soon as they found out about the case.

"The reason for that is because the young boy is 16-years old,” said Sheriff Lucio. “He's a minor under the laws of Texas, so that's prohibited."

Almaraz was charged with two counts of sexual assault of a child, and one count of prohibited sexual conduct.

She remains behind bars at this time. All together, her charges add up to $75,000 in bonds.
