Tropical Storm Helene was downgraded to a tropical depression Saturday morning after it moved inland over southern Tamaulipas, Mexico, about 300 miles south of the border.

The storm is expected to move on a northward track toward the Rio Grande Valley and may bring some heavy rains on Sunday through Tuesday but with no significant winds.

The storm will continue to weaken as it moves over land and is expected to dissipate over the next two days.

Due to the increase in cloud cover from the storm, temperatures are also expected to be slightly cooler the first half of next week.
