Authorities are still sorting out the details about an argument that ended with two people being shot at a popular bar in Brownsville.

It all happened at the Toucan Lounge off Expressway 77/83 and Price Road around 2 a.m. Thursday.

Brownsville police said a man was shot in the chest and a woman was shot in the stomach.

Paramedics rushed both of them to a local hospital where they are listed in critical condition.

Investigators believe that an argument led to the shooting.

Witnesses told police that the male shooting victim left the bar with his friends and approached a man sitting alone in a dark-colored car.

The male shooting victim allegedly surrounded the man's car.

Investigators believe that the shooting started an argument with the man in the car and grabbed him by his shirt.

The man allegedly responded by grabbing a gun from his car's glovebox and firing two rounds.

Brownsville police interviewed the shooting suspect shortly after the incident.

Investigators said no arrests have been pending an ongoing investigation.

Action 4 News will provide more information as it becomes available.
