The Democratic Party nomination for Cameron County Precinct 2-2 Justice of the Peace ended on Tuesday evening.

Erin H. Garcia won the runoff with 4,255 votes or about 51 percent of the ballot.

Rival Yolanda Teran Begum got 4,091 votes or about 49 percent.

Without a Republican challenger, Garcia is expected to waltz into office following the November general election.
