Willacy Co. deputies investigating overnight stabbing

The Willacy County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances of aSaturday morning stabbing in Sebastian.

Sheriff Larry Spence said a Sebastian man claimed he was stabbed outside his home on 7th Street at about 2 a.m.

He claimed another man walked up to him as he was on his driveway and demanded money.

The victim allegedly denied and the suspect then stabbed him three times, along his torso and back.

Paramedics rushed the victim to Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, where he continued recovering later Saturday morning.

Sheriff Spence said the victim was unable to provide a description of the man that stabbed him.

The circumstances of the stabbing remain under investigation.
