The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office is looking for several armed men that allegedly kidnapped a man from his La Blanca home on Sunday.
Investigators said the man was able to escape his captors on Wednesday and call for help.
According to the communications supervisor, deputies first received a call about a possible kidnapping at 5:37 p.m. on Wednesday.
They responded to a home on the 1000 block of Bowie Street in Elsa.
The alleged victim told deputies that several masked men went up to his home near Highway 107 and FM 493 in La Blanca, on Sunday between 7 and 8 a.m.
They forced the man into their vehicle and took him to another home, where they held him until he was able to escape on Wednesday.
According to the victim's testimony, he was able to escape through a window of the home where was held at about 4 p.m., and ran towards a neighbors home to ask for help.
At this time, it remains unclear whether the Elsa home where deputies responded was where the victim ran to for help.
Investigators said the victim was unable to identify the location where he was held captive from Sunday until Wednesday.
He was also not able to give a description of the men that kidnapped him, or how many there were.
However, he told investigators the men were wearing black ski masks, and were armed with both handguns and assault rifles.
According to investigators, when they responded to the call, they found the man with bruises and minor cuts to his face and body, and provided medical attention.
As of late Wednesday night, the victim remained at the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office to file a report.
There is no word yet on the motive for the kidnapping.
Authorities are not releasing the victim's age or identity.
