A Hidalgo County man is behind bars after he allegedly kidnapped a woman and threatened her 4-year-old child on Friday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that 40-year-old Ramiro Farias got into the backseat of the victim’s car while she was parked at El Pueblito Bar off FM 1925 in rural Edinburg.

Farias allegedly told her to drive him wherever he needed to go and that if she didn't, he would rape and kill her 4-year-old daughter.

According to the woman, she drove to Hoehn Subdivision where she stopped and asked for help.

The womansaid Farias and the man she asked for help got into a fight.

Deputies arrested Farias charged with kidnapping and injury to a child—he was given a $200,000 bond. 

 According to court records Farias has at least 10 prior arrest and spent four years in prison for burglary.
