Three San Benito city employees are facing criminal charges after allegedly using a city dump and stole city property.

Three San Benito city employees are facing criminal charges after allegedly using a city dump and stole city property.

San Benito police reported 51-year-old Adolfo Gamez, 52-year-old Javier Villarreal and 31-year-old Esequiel Diaz surrendered Monday afternoon.

All three men work for the San Benito Water Distribution Department.

Investigators told Action 4 News that the three are accused of using a city dump truck to drop materials off at one of their homes.

The three men are facing unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and Class C misdemeanor theft charges.

Gamez, Villarreal and Diaz appeared before Cameron County Justice of the Peace Manuel Flores, Jr.

Judge Flores issued $5,000 dollar bonds for Gamez and Villarreal and a $5,000 personal recognizance bond for Diaz.
