Soldiers are stepping up patrols in Nuevo Laredo and other border cities to ensure voter safety.

Mexico's presidential and congressional elections are taking place on Sunday.

The Mexican Army says it's stepping up patrols in Nuevo Laredo and other border cities to assure voters.

It's not clear how recent drug cartel violence will impact voter turnout at the polls.

But hundreds of troops are expected in the streets and guarding polling locations.
