An 18-year-old was arrested in Harlingen after forcing a 14-year-old to engage in sexual activity.
The mother of the teen girl filed a report with the Harlingen Police Department in April regarding the sexual assault.
The daughter had told her mother that Issac Garza had forced her, so an investigation was launched.
Detectives asked the 18-year-old to go to the police department to speak to them on June 7.
Garza admitted to having engaged in sexual activity with the victim.
He was charged with aggravated assault of a child and his bond was set at $30,000.
