A 28-year-old man was shot at house outside of Roma after getting into an argument with another man.
Starr County Sheriff’s Deparment received a call at 11:30 p.m. regarding the shooting.
Four men were drinking at a house on Salineno Road in the Los Arrieros neighborhood when Billy Gonzalez and Heraldo Chapa got into a fight.
When deputies arrived, they found Chapa shot once in the back.
The deputies recovered the weapon, a 30 caliber gun, from the scene.
Gonzalez had reportedly left the house to go get the gun, came back to shoot Chapa, and then fled the scene.
Chapa was flown to the McAllen Medical Center and is now reported to be in stable condition.
Gonzalez was caught around two hours later in a nearby brushy area.
He is expected to be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and he is expected to be arraigned within the next two days.
