This 67-year-old retired Harlingen man used to work in cotton gins and in the cannery business but recently became CEO of a couple of 8-liner arcades around Cameron County.

But the game rooms were shut down, under what Trinidad Salinas calls suspicious circumstances pointing to Cameron County District Attorney Armando Villalobos.

"It's a non-profit organization helping the elderly,” Salinas said of his arcades.

Salinas is firing back after filing a petition to have the Villalobos removed from office.

"As far as Armando Villalobos, did he have anything to do with that? I have no idea who but I'm pretty sure he did,” Salinas said.

So far, Salinas stands alone in his battle to get Villalobos removed from office.

His legal petition hearing did not warrant much action at all last week

In fact, the judge rescheduled the hearing for May 30th until the complaint is made more specific.

Attorneys for Villalobos said that the petition is politically motivated.

But standing close by Salinas is his attorney Juan Angel Guerra.

The former Willacy County district attorney is also running for the same congressional seat as Villalobos.

Salinas told Action 4 News that he went to Guerra for help.

When asked why he believes the district attorney should be stripped of his powers, Salinas doesn't have a valid response.

"I guess so, i don't have anything against him,” he said.

When asked why he filed the petition in the first place, the same kind of uncertain response.

“I have no idea...I just thought he was doing something wrong, I mean you know,” he said.

Guerra  stated that Salinas was speaking out as a concerned citizen of Cameron County, who was tired of the corruption in the DA's office after Villalobos was recently indicted on federal racketeering charges.

But Salinas still seems unsure of what he's accusing Villalobos of doing and the judge overseeing the case said if his petition remains flawed by May 30th -- it will be dismissed.
