A Mexican Mafia member on the Texas Top 10 Most Wanted list for the stabbing and beating of a Spring Breaker on South Padre Island is now behind bars.

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) officials confirmed that 30-year-old Felix Velasquez, Jr. was arrested in the southside of San Antonio on Tuesday.

Velasquez is one of 12 men accused in the March 17th stabbing and ice chest beating of Spring Breaker Derek Madrigal.

Madrigal survived the attack, which all started when he stepped in to defend a woman being harassed by a group of men on the beach.

At least 11 other alleged members of the Texas wing of the Mexican Mafia have been arrested for the incident.

DPS officials reported that Velasquez and two other members of the prison gang were all arrested together.

Velasquez allegedly had six handguns, an assault rifle, body armor and various amounts of cocaine, heroin and marijuana. One of the handguns had been reported as stolen.

DPS officials had placed Velasquez on the Texas Top 10 Most Wanted list back in April.
