Action 4 News has posted a RAW VIDEO of Mission Animal Control speaking about the capture of a monkey who spent weeks on the loose.

Ernie Zapata with Mission Animal Control said the male patas monkey spent weeks living in and around orchards off Mile 2 Line and Los Ebanos Road.

The monkey did not harm anyone but animal control officers used sweet bread and fruit to capture it in a trap.

Zapata and other animal control officers took it to the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville where it will spend 30 days in quarantine.

Officials are not sure where the monkey came from but it appears to be healty and docile.
