Family and friends were soft-spoken and somber today in the home of the late Guillermo Alonso.

They flipped through pictures and shed quiet tears, struggling to make sense of how such a violent crime could be done to such a beloved man.

Alonso was found dead outside of Corpus Christi on Wednesday.

Investigators say Alonso was shot at least seven times, execution style.

According to his wife, Alonso worked by flipping cars for a living, where he would purchase used vehicles around the state to repair and the re-sell them.

Often times, Alonso would carry large amounts of cash to purchase these vehicles.

Despite the brutal manner of Alonso’s death, his family says that they will welcome words of encouragement from the community with open arms.
