A drug smuggler is facing criminal charges after he crashed his truck into a home in Sullivan City.
It all happened at a home off El Pinto Road and Bluebird Street in Sullivan City early Wednesday afternoon.
Court records released Friday show that Border Patrol agents arrested 28-year-old Jose Manuel Casanova for the incident.
Border Patrol agents said Casanova was driving a maroon Ford F-150 leaving the Rio Grande River near Los Ebanos.
Casanova saw Border Patrol agents on Expressway 83 and sped up El Pinto Road but lost control of truck at Bluebird Street and crashed into a home.
The 28-year-old smuggling suspect fled on foot but was caught one block away.
Authorities found 41 bundles with 801 pounds of marijuana inside the truck.
Court records show that Casanova is an illegal immigrant from Mexico and was supposed to get paid to the deliver the drugs.
License plate records show that the truck is registered to a man in Brownsville.
