Janet Magee is a pioneer in the fight against child abuse and neglect.

She is responsible for a nationwide movement which raises awareness for children without a voice.

Her non-profit organization, Blue Sunday, works tirelessly to break the silence and is now recognized by millions of people in churches, children advocacy agencies and communities everywhere.

Sarah Montemayor volunteers with Blue Sunday and has known about Janet's incredible work with kids for years.

"The reason I want to Pay it 4Ward… she (Janet) needs to be honored for what she does and it's another way to get the word out about child abuse, neglect and the people who rescue them," said Sarah.

She calls Janet's efforts noble and inspiring.

"She's incredible,” said Sarah. “She's motivating to other people... She's disciplined... She's dedicated... She's strong... She's brave."

Blue Sunday works closely with Child Protective Service offices, foster homes and other similar organizations to provide donated toys, clothes, bedding and more importantly hope.

Sarah can't think anyone more deserving of the Pay it 4Ward prize.

"She never asks for anything,” said Sarah. “She just wants to give, give, give."

With the help of Pronto Insurance, Sarah got to give back to Janet for her constant generosity and love.

“With it being Child Abuse Prevention month…“It sounds like Janet embodies the spirit and the soul of what it's all about for the kids,” said Alexis Reyes with Pronto Insurance.  “On behalf of Pronto Insurance and Action 4 News, it gives us great pride to give you $400 to Pay it 4Ward!"

Janet is surprised at her Harlingen home.

Sarah told her she was coming over to talk about an after school project.

Action 4’s Ryan Wolf was there when Janet answered the door.

Ryan: Hello there... Ryan wolf with Action 4 News... How are you?

Janet: Shocked!

Ryan: First off, congratulations for the work that you do for abused and neglected children. We're here for a very special reason Janet.  Here’s Sarah.

Sarah: You inspire me and so many people, and we are here on behalf of Action 4 News and Pronto Insurance... And pay it 4ward... This is yours. You can do whatever you want with it... Put your hands out... 100, 200, 300, 400 dollars!

Janet: Wow!  Thank you... Wow!  How wonderful!  Blue Sunday!

National Blue Sunday, which started in the Rio Grande Valley, falls on the last Sunday of April each year.

It is a time when churches and organizations all across America will be taking time in the morning to pray for the victims of child abuse and for those that rescue them.

Ryan: How does it make you feel knowing that you're making that kind of impact?

Janet: It makes me feel wonderful. Everyone wants to know they're doing something good.

Ryan: That money is for you.

Janet: Thank you, this will go to the foster kids! Thank you so much and thank you all!

When someone makes a positive impact on others, it’s one more way to Pay it 4Ward.
