Omgida Davila told Action 4 News she just wants the person responsible for her son’s death to come forward.
"I just wish they'd say something,” Davila said during a phone interview with Action 4 News. “I wish they would come forward and say something---they don't have to say their name, just something."
Davila admitted that Roman would hang out with the wrong crowd.
She said it was something she tried to stop many times—she even moved her family 10 hours away from Rio Grande City to west Texas.
She said when Roman turned 18, he moved back to Rio Grande City.
"I tried all that I could,” Davila explained. “He just decided to go back."
She said Roman would call her everyday---but one day those calls stopped.
Davila said she knew something was wrong.
A few days later her fears were confirmed when a Starr County investigator called with the tragic news—her son had been murdered.
"I just wish that whoever knows something--that they put themselves in my place and see how it feels to lose a son the way I lost mine."
Authorities are offering a reward to anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for this murder.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to the Starr County Sheriff’s Office at (956) 487-5571.
All callers will remain anonymous.
