Disciplinary action taken against Mission students abusing pills

Disciplinary action is being taken against several Mission area high school students who allegedly abused prescription medications while in class.

It all happened at Veterans Memorial High School on Wednesday.

Mission CISD officials confirmed that one student brought prescription medication to school and shared it with six friends.

Campus staff noticed the change in behavior of these students and they were taken for medical evaluation to ensure their safety.

School district officials said one of the prescription medications was identified as an anti-depressant and the other was possibly an anti-convulsive drug.

Officials reported that the students are fine but that disciplinary actions are being taken against them.
