Suspects linked to string of robberies in Harlingen

An arrest made following the robbery of a Harlingen tortilleria has allowed to detectives to solve at least two other crimes.

Harlingen police arrested 19-year-old Gerardo Bermudez on an aggravated robbery charge on Monday evening.

Bermudez is accused of robbing Moreno's Tortilleria on M Street at knifepoint.

Investigators told Action 4 News that detectives were able to link Bermudez to the March 12th robbery of a Stars Drive-In.

Authorities were also able to link Bermudez and 29-year-old Daniel Puga, Jr. to a March 24th robbery outside the Harlingen WalMart.

Both men remain in custody under $250,000 dollar bonds.

A third suspect, identified as Ivan Joseph Moreno, in the WalMart robbery remains jailed under $950,000 dollars in bonds for the crime and other robberies.
