An Economedes High School student used Facebook to flaunt a fight she had with another student at school.

She posted a video of the brawl and the video’s consequences could bring charges.

Although this student may tout she won the school fight, a legal battle is just beginning to brew.

Facebook comments paint a picture of who the aggressor was in the video.

The girl in the pink, who Action 4 News will not identify because she's a minor, writes on her own facebook page, "i finally got that b*tch..." and "they didn't let me finish..."

The edinburg school district confirms this fight happened Monday on campus.

"We're investigating the incident, and the investigation is not complete." said Edinburg School District Spokesman Gilbert Tagle.

He said Economedes High School is investigating and will hand over their findings to school district police.

“Once the investigation is complete,” said Tagle. “The findings are turned over to the DA's office and they take over from there."

Family Crisis Center Legal Advocate Amanda Garcia said charges could include cyber bullying.

"it is a form of cyber bullying,” said Garcia. “They’re putting them out there with the intent to hurt them or to make them feel embarrassed.”

Citing a student's right to privacy, the school district would not tell us if any disciplinary action was taken.

"We just don't.  We don't,” said Tagle. “It involves students."

According to school policy, the instigator of a fight would be suspended.

Tagle said those heard chuckling on the sidelines will likely be questioned.

The person who shot the video could possibly be given in-school suspension.

We had an interview set with the mother of the girl who got beat up, but she cancelled.

On the phone she said her daughter is recovering, but she has not sent her daughter back to school because of threatening messages that her daughter is getting on Facebook.

Action 4 News may have an opportunity to talk with this mom on Thursday.
