A man accused of kidnapping his ex-wife faced a judge where he was issued a $100,000 dollar bond.
Weslaco police arrested 27-year-old Fernando Rivera, Jr. on a kidnapping charge on Tuesday morning.
Investigators said Rivera kidnapped his ex-wife from the parking lot of South Texas College’s Weslaco campus.
Witnesses called police after they saw Rivera hold a knife to the woman’s throat and force her into his car.
Police found the car a few blocks away, rescued the woman and arrested Rivera.
The 27-year-old Weslaco man appeared before a judge on Wednesday morning where he was issued a $100,000 dollar bond.
Authorities transferred Rivera to the Hidalgo County Jail where he remains in custody.
