"The Hunger Games" eats up theaters

It has all the makings of a Hollywood blockbuster.

“The Hunger Games” hit theaters across the national including right here in the Rio Grande Valley selling more than 25-hundred showtimes across the country Friday.

Valley fans were able to see two people under dire situations go into a ring and fight for their lives literally.

The movie is based on a popular book, and used 13 different Facebook pages and several Twitter accounts to garner support for the movie.

"The Hunger Games" ranks third, behind "Twilight: New Moon" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" in the highest number of advanced ticket sales.

Cindy Saenz, of Barnes and Noble joined Action 4 Sunrise to talk about the book and movie
