A teen is in custody after he stabbed his 14-year-old  friend in Weslaco on Leap Day.

The 15-year-old suspect told investigators that his friend was ‘the cause of his problems’ and a “Ouija Board” advised him to hurt his friend.

The two friends had gone to a wooded area by 700 block of S. Airport Drive after school on Wednesday Feb. 29, when the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the abdomen.

Seriously injured, the victim went with the suspect to a nearby business and had a citizen called 9-1-1.

Investigators recovered the weapon.

The 15-year-old was transported to the Hidalgo County Juvenile Detention center after he was arrested.
