DPS Spokersperson Johnny Hernandez said the chase started in Edcouch, then continued along Expressway 83.

It ended at about 8:15 p.m. in front of the Bass Pro Shop in Harlingen.

Troopers administed a DWI test on scene, then took the man into custody in handcuffs.

The license plates to the suspect vehicle came back registered to Jose Angel Hernandez of Ash Avenue in Mercedes.
