Man arrested after standoff, shooting at Alamo police

A man is behind bars after a standoff where he barricaded himself inside a car and reportedly fired at police.

It all happened at the Economy Food & Gas store of Alamo Road and Expressway 83 shortly after 5 p.m. Monday.

A motive is not clear but Alamo police told Action 4 News that the suspect barricaded himself inside a car and fired at officers.

Authorities shut down the frontage road of the expressway and parts of Alamo Road during the incident.

Neighboring businsses, including a fast food restaurant were also evacuated.

Police told Action 4 News that officers were able to arrest the man right before 6 p.m. Monday.

The man's name is not being released at this time but he's expected to face multiple criminal charges.
