The Mexican Army dismantled three make shift narco-camps in Tamaulipas, along the border with the Valley, this past week.

In a press release, the Secretaría de la Defensa Nacional (SEDENA) or the Ministry of National Defense said they arrested more than 50 suspected cartel members from March 3-9.

In that time, they also freed nine individuals they said were being held captive.

The raids on the camps, along with several other operatives throughout the Tamaulipas border area, netted more than 7300 pounds of marijuana, as well as 101 rifles and handguns, and nearly 23,600 rounds of ammunition.

Army soldiers also seized more than 60 cars, communication equipment, and nearly $20,000 dollars worth in American and Mexican currency.
