A Hidalgo County jury has found a Weslaco man guilty of his wife's February 2011 murder.

Pedro Villalobos appeared for his verdict in the 398th State District Court on Thursday afternoon.

After hearing almost three days of testiminy, jurors returned with a guilty verdict.

Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Villalobos for the murder of his wife Farrah Lynn Villalobos back in February 2011.

Villalobos severely beat his wife Farrah. That beating landed her in a coma and she died a week later.

The rural Weslaco man stood before a district judge earlier this week and rejected a plea deal that would send him to prison for 40 years.

Villalobos is expected to be sentenced on Friday morning where he's facing five to 99 years in prison.
