Police seized 500 pounds of marijuana

A chase through Sullivan City landed an undocumented man behind bars and several hundred pounds of marijuana in police hands.

According to police, an officer tried pulling over the driver of a Grand Marquis on the expressway near Cenizo but the man took off.

Police said he led them on a chase across several lanes of the expressway and at times, went against traffic.

Military Highway and Guadalupe Flores is where police said the driver abandoned the car and ran.

Officers caught up to him and inside the car, officers found 32 bundles of marijuana and a bundle of cocaine.

The marijuana weighed more than 500 pounds.

Police said the driver is expected to be handed over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for prosecution.
