A Mission elderly man is safe at home after his family reported him missing Saturday night.
Family told Action 4 News 87-year-old Juan Salinas left their home in a Ford pickup truck Saturday night.
Before 10:00 p.m. he had not returned.
Family said they believed road closures from the Mission Citrus Parade may have confused the elderly man.
According to family, a firefighter saw Salinas's truck stuck in a San Benito ditch.
He reportedly pulled over and called police after he said the elderly man seemed panicked and disoriented.
When San Benito police arrived they reportedly knew who Salinas was because of an issued Silver Alert.
Police reportedly said they also recognized Salinas from seeing his picture on Action 4 News at 10:00 p.m.
A Silver Alert is a public notification system that broadcasts information about missing elderly.
