Harlingen Police used a taser to take down a man with a metal bar as his weapon.

It happened early Friday morning.

Police got a call about a man assaulting people at Villa Residential, an assisted living center on the 100 Block of Ed Carey.

Once there a bleeding woman reportedly told police she was assaulted.

Inside the center police found 28-year-old Brandon Schmitt armed with a metal bar.

Police officers report they told Schmitt to put down the bar.

Schmitt reportedly refused and then started walking towards police.

Police tased and arrested Schmitt.

Police said Schmitt assaulted three other people.

They were taken to the hospital.

A judge gave Schmitt a $150,000 bond for three counts of burglary of a habitation and intent to commit a felony.
