A Brownsville teen faced a judge on Thursday following a standoff with police officers in the Southmost area of the city.

Brownsville police arrested 17-year-old Adrian Lara on deadly conduct and unlawful carrying a weapon charges on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers had tried to serve an arrest warrant on him but the teen ended up by a ditch off La Plaza drive with a handgun.

Police negotiators were able to talk to Lara and make him agree to surrender peacefully.

Lara appeared before a Brownsville municipal judge on Thursday morning where he was issued a total of $53,000 dollars in bonds.
