Woman's boyfriend remains in custody for her murder
The family of a Hidalgo County woman murdered by her boyfriend has made their final funeral arrangements.
Jillilah Marie Rivas is expected to be buried on Thursday.
Her boyfriend Sergio Osvaldo Garcia remains behind bars under a $500,000 dollar bond for her murder early Sunday morning.
Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office deputies said Garcia ran Rivas over following an argument at a party.
The family of Rivas will be holding visitation at the Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior Lutheran Church in McAllen.
Rivas will be buried at the Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
