A Santa Rosa man is behind bars after he was caught in the act sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl.
Cameron County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested 48-year-old Rodolfo Ramirez on Sunday morning.
Court records show that it all happened at a home on Thompson Road around 8:25 a.m. Sunday.
The girl’s mother told deputies that she got home from work and caught Ramirez with her daughter.
The girl told her mother that Ramirez had sex with her and that he had done it before.
Action 4 News does not identify victims of sexual abuse but records show that Ramirez knew the girl through her mother.
Ramirez allegedly admitted to touching the girl inappropriately.
Deputies charged him with sexual assault of a child.
The Santa Rosa man appeared before Cameron County Judge Patricia Edelstein on Monday morning where he was issued a $150,000 dollar bond.
Ramirez remains in custody at the Carrizalez-Rucker Detention Center in Olmito.
