There were some tense moments south of the border in Reynosa following reports of shootouts and blockades.

Reynosa residents used the social media network Twitter to report the violence there.

Some of the city’s busiest roads were tied up in traffic jams late Monday afternoon.

The Ribereña highway linking Reynosa to Nuevo Laredo was among the roadways shut down.

Residents reported wounded but officials are not confirming that at this time.

Everything was back to normal by around 8 p.m. Monday.

Action 4 News will provide more information as it becomes available.
