Authorities are investigating a three-car accident in Rio Grande City involving a Roma police chief and an officer.
It all happened just west of town early Wednesday morning.
No major injuries were reported.
Investigators told Action 4 News that the Roma police chief and the police department's public information officer were involved in the accident.
Police said the patrol unit was heading west on Expressway 83 when a car pulled out of North Garza Road.
The patrol unit did not have time to stop and crashed into the car.
Investigators said the patrol unit spun out of control and that's when it was hit by a third vehicle in coming from the other direction.
Action 4 News will provide more information as it becomes available.
