Authorities are asking for the public's help to put a knife-wielding suspect behind bars.

La Feria police are looking for Martin Silva as the suspect in a stabbing that has left a man hospitalized.

Investigators told Action 4 News that it all happened at a party on the 900 block of Tichenor Lane back on December 26th.

Police Chief Don Garcia said Silva is accused a stabbing a man once in the stomach.

"The concern right now is to have this individual's whereabouts so that we can pick him up,” Chief Garcia said.

Silva is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall with a slim build in his early 20's.

Chief Garcia said Silva apparently has a long rap sheet and could be hiding out in the Santa Rosa area or Houston.

Anyone with information should contact La Feria police at (956) 797-3121.
