Alma Garcia hangs her brother's picture on the Christmas tree.
This Christmas, she’s seeking closure to his death over one year ago.
"We need to know why,” said Garcia.
October 10, 2010 a car hit and killed Joey Mendoza.
He was walking home on Sam Houston Boulevard, West of Expressway 77 in San Benito.
Garcia told Action 4 News $4,000 is now available to anyone who can help police put her brother’s killer in handcuffs.
"If there's anybody out there that's willing... to find it in their hearts to speak up and say something,” said Garcia.
Evidence gathered in the hit and run is limited.
Police said a GMC Yukon may have hit Mendoza.
The case is now growing cold.
Garcia's heart burns for answers.
"There's a void in our hearts and our lives," said Garcia.
Garcia's only hope to feel whole again is finding her brother's killer.
San Benito Police said they've exhausted every lead in this case.
