Palmview police identify suspect killed during burglary

Autopsy results show that the suspect in an early Wednesday morning burglary in Palmview died from his gun shot injures.

Palmview police said the homeowner shot and killed the 31-year-old suspect Ruben Beltran.

Autopsy results show Beltran was shot once in the wrist and once in the abdomen.

The homeowner is not expected to face charges but police have referred the case to the Hidalgo County District Attorney's Office.

Under Texas state law, homeowners are allowed to use guns to defend their homes.
