21 Central American immigrants found at Elsa stash house

Authorities are investigating how 21 illegal immigrants from Central America ended up inside a home in Elsa.

It all happened at a home on Ciro Caceres Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Monday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that the investigations started with a tip to the Elsa Police Department.

Elsa police contacted Border Patrol, who also brought in U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

Investigators said 21 illegal immigrants were found inside the home.

As of Monday afternoon, it was  not clear who was smuggling them.

No criminal charges had been filed in federal court but the investgiation continues.
