Reynosa residents were on alert following reports of a shootout and a chase and several busy roads on the city's west and south sides.

Officials told Action 4 News that the incident ended around 2 p.m. Monday and that there were no reports of injuries.

It all started with reports of gunmen at Mil Cumbres Boulevard and the Monterrey freeway on the city's southside around 12:30 p.m. Monday.

Residents reported on the #reynosafollow channel of Twitter that they heard gunfire.

A chase went all the way to the HEB supermarket off Boulevard Hidalgo and back to the Matamoros-Monterrey freeway.

A military helicopter was seen in the skies.

Mexican army officials did not have any information at this time.

Action 4 News will provide more information as it becomes available.
