Three men are behind bars after authorities rescued 21 Central American immigrants from a stash house in Nuevo Laredo.

It all happened at a home in the Colonia Solidaridad on Friday.

Mexico's Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA) reports that soldiers were out on patrol when they spotted armed men outside the building.

The men tried to flee but were caught.

Authorities found 21 immigrants from Guatemala and Honduras inside the home.

Four of the immigrants were women.

SEDENA officials said the case remains under investigation by federal authorities.
