A family of four will be homeless during tonight's freezing weather following a mobile home fire just east of Edinburg.

It all happened at a mobile home off Xander Road northeast of Edinburg early Tuesday afternoon.

Edinburg firefighters told Action 4 News that the fire completed destroyed a camper leaving a family of four homeless.

Two other homes were connected to the mobile home but firefighters managed to stop the fire before it was too late.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation but firefighters are asking for area residents to be careful with heating appliances during tonight's freezing weather.

Xander Road is located near the intersection of Monte Cristo and Doolittle Roads.
