Valley health care providers are headed to Austin for a hearing Monday.

The hearing will focus on implementing a Medicaid Managed Health Care System in South Texas.

The system is set to be in effect by March 1, 2012.

State Representative Richard Peña Raymond will lead discussion on how to increase transparency and efficiency within health care organizations such as adult day cares and rehabilitation facilities.

Some say managed health care will save Texas tax payers millions of dollars.

Others argue it will only make health care more difficult to access.
