Thousands of Black Friday shoppers flooded McAllen's La Plaza Mall where stores opened early at time ranging from midnight to 4 a.m.

Thousands of shoppers flooded McAllen's La Plaza Mall where stores opened early at time ranging from midnight to 4 a.m. for Black Friday.

More than 20 stores opened early on Friday morning creating long lines and drawing thousands to the mall.

Many shoppers told Action 4 News that it was worth it because they saved a lot money.

Some of the Black Friday shoppers came as far away as Mexico City to get good deals.

Retailers expect strong sales throughout the day and this holiday weekend.
