SWAT team responds to false alarm in Harlingen

There were tense moments in one Harlingen neighborhood Saturday afternoon as police and a swat team surrounded a home on the 100 Block of Flynn street.

Harlingen Police reportedly got a call from a man threatening to hurt himself and possibly others.

The man was said to have told police he had weapons with him.

A viewer posted a picture on Action 4's facebook page from the scene.

A police officer can be seen on top of a roof with his gun aimed.

Police said they didn't want to take any chances after they got the call.

Police said when swat members went inside the home, no one was inside.

Harlingen Police told Action 4 News they are investigating the caller's mental condition, and the case is ongiong.

Police added the caller could face charges.
