Edinburg police responded to a Sunday night call after receiving reports of shots of shots on West Samano Street.

But what they found was something out of the ordinary.

Instead of doing their best to keep quiet while burglarizing a vehicle, two teens used a shotgun to shoot through the window and gain access to a vehicle's GPS system.

Police caught up to a 16-year-old suspect while the other 16-year-old later surrendered.

The two teens are in the Hidalgo County Juvenile Detention Center where they’re facing charges of evading arrest in a vehicle-evading arrest on foot-burglary of a vehicle-and deadly conduct.
